Part two of the origins of the newest Avengers team of all comes out this week, so here’s an early look at it! It’s All-New, All-Different Avengers #2!

  • The Avengers are dead–long live the Avengers! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes–Captain America, Thor, Vision, and Iron Man–are living separate lives, not tied to any team–but when a threat from beyond the stars targets our world, fate draws them together once more, alongside Nova, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales a.k.a. How To Avenge A Guy In 10 Days

… … …I don’t really have anything to say, I just thought this was too funny to not share. XD

Sonic Screw Driver Wii remote

Holy crap, I want this so bad. XD

Gaming controllers

On 12 March 2010, it was first reported that Nintendo had signed a £10 million contract with the BBC to bring Doctor Who to the Wii and DS consoles. On 6 September 2010, it was announced that Doctor Who: Return To Earth would be supported by a Wii Remote accessory modelled to look like the Eleventh Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver produced by The BBC and Wii-accessory maker Blue Ocean         As far as looks yes this is spot on really looks the part then it’s kind of downhill from there poor battery life, lacks the quality of Nintendo’s Wii remotes. Impossible to play virtual console games and of course this isn’t fitting into a Wii wheel, guitar, Zapper gun or any other add on but on the bright side it was better than Doctor Who: Return To Earth, as the game itself was the worst Wii game ever made

Review: Andre the Giant – Closer to Heaven

CULT FACTION

I’ve loved pro wrestling almost as long as I’ve loved comics, but it takes a lot to get me interested in those two things joining together. Comics that take on real-life wrestlers tend to go one of two ways. The first is that they just present wrestling as it is, like the old Marvel World Championship Wrestling comic, focusing on the in-ring action and the struggle for championships in the same style that you can see on TV every Monday. It’s interesting — usually because it’s weird as all hell — but it’s also ultimately self-defeating, because the comics clearly don’t matter in the scheme of things. Throw in the delay that you get from publishing and the shifting alliances and feuds that keep people interested, and they seem pointless and out of date from the word go.

The second option, the one taken by books like the Ultimate Warrior’s…

New Story: Primal Strife

So, as you’ve probably noticed by now, I’ve been writing on here a lot less as of late. That’s because I went ahead and decided to do the story I talked about on here a while back. The result? Primal Strife… … …Of course, I wanted to call it Beast Wars, but that was already taken. lol Anyway, here’s a quick look at the plot…

Primereth. A world inhabited by many creatures, all bestial in appearance, but many capable of great intelligence and skills. The Canines had their pack mentality and ability to come together as a strong and smart workforce. The Avians used their mastery and knowledge of the skies and wind patterns to help predict weather patterns. The Lapines possessed a oneness with life itself, granting them the knowledge of qi. The Cetacea, graceful masters of the sea and perhaps the most brilliant of all species, possessed the power of telepathy. However, for as intelligent and skilled as they all could be, none possessed the sheer creative potential of the Simians. They created new forms of technology to better the world, and to allow all races to live lives more comfortably. Within time, they began a grand era of Primereth, with many cities that possessed towers reaching up toward the clouds. And, in this time of comfort, many different races, who had long since been divided by differences and a need to control their own corners of the world, began to reside together in those cities, all working together for their united prosperity.

But, like all things, this eventually came to an end. One day, in the sixty-second year of the Steel and Stone Era, an epidemic was recorded. It was sweeping across much of the western hemisphere of Primereth. Within a year, thousands were stricken with this disease, and hundreds more were dying from it. In an attempt to cure this epidemic, the Simians’ greatest medical scientists came together to forge a vaccine. At first, it seemed to work, as those that had been infected and then had the vaccine tested on showed improved vitals. However, all too late did they realise that they’d created something…worse. Their vaccine actually bonded to the disease, creating something completely new, an unholy union that mutated the bodies of those it rested in, and degraded their minds to their most primal forms: Those of hunters, killers, and conquerors of all kinds. Making matters worse was that the disease could be spread through bodily fluids, and in their degraded and deranged minds, those that were mutated were biting, clawing, and worse at anyone and anything in their path.

After three years, most of the western hemisphere had fallen into chaos, the Simians were an endangered species, and the Steel and Stone Era was replaced with the Primal Era. The united population of Primereth was becoming divided again, though not simply by race, but also in ideas and plans for the future, personal agendas and vendettas, and overall political power and influence. Cities became reconstructed to keep out those carrying the disease as best as possible. However, there remained fallen cities still rich in natural resources, now left untapped. For the sake of survival, many cities began creating teams of specialists, survivalists, and warriors that could brave the now ruined and dangerous world outside their towers to retrieve said resources. These teams would soon begin rivaling ones from other cities, and began to take up missions that involved interfering in the matters of other cities and their leaders.

And thus began…the Primal Strife.

I should also explain a few additional details. For example, Primereth is a bit different from Earth in terms of time. For the sake of giving SOME common ground, seconds are the same, but from there, it’s completely different: there’s 100 seconds in a minute, 100 minutes in an hour, 10 hours in a day, 75 days in a season, and 4 seasons in a year. No months, only the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Then there’re the inhabitants of Primereth. Their skeletal structures are still relatively the same as the creatures they’re based off of, just bigger. They can stand on their hind legs just fine and move around like us, but they’re still a bit faster on all fours, and their front paws more resemble hands. Likewise, anything with wings in real life and not arms will have wings in place of their arms, and feather-covered hands at the ends of them. As for how other kinds of creatures work, I’ll discuss them in the Author’s Notes I put at the end of every chapter of every story I write when we come to them.

Lastly, I should talk about the most controversial part of this story. I was on the fence about involving sex in this story, and ultimately, the part of me that wanted to include it was the part that won out due to the simple fact that…well, animals fuck. It’s kind of a thing, and to pretend otherwise is just dumb. For those uncomfortable with that, I should note that, due to the restrictions of FictionPress, I will not be going into graphic detail when it comes to sex in the story while I’m posting it on there… … …BUT, for those that don’t mind and/or would actually want to read the details, I’m also posting an uncensored version of this story on AdultFanfiction. Just a warning, though: Because it’s uncensored, there’s a lot of graphic violence and sex involved, though with the latter, I’m gonna try to keep it gender neutral in terms of overall exploitation. Because, as I’ve learned, any kind of sex in a story is ultimately exploitation, there’s just no way around that, so the best thing you can do if you’re going to involve it is keep it as gender neutral as possible.

Anyway, here are the links to the story. Check ’em out at your leisure, and lemme know what you think of the story so far. Ja né!

700th Blog Post! + Jyger’s Favourite 5 – Memories of Five of My Most Viewed Articles

Hey guys! It’s the 700th blog post!!!

So, after 700 posts on this blog, I’ve naturally assembled a lot of memories over the years. And, for some reason, several articles I’ve done on here seem to get way more views than others, still getting viewed even to this day. In fact, I wanna show you something. Here’re the ten most frequent search engine terms to lead people to my blog…

…and here are some of the highest viewed articles on my blog.

So, given some of the obvious preferences for some of these posts by my fans, I thought I’d go ahead and look back on five of them, my memories of them, and if my overall thoughts and feelings on the topics of each one still hold up. So, let’s start off with probably the most infamous article on my blog…

#1 - "…Is Elesa Really THAT Hot???" from Feb. 4th, 2012

#1 – “…Is Elesa Really THAT Hot???” from Feb. 4th, 2012

Oh my God, this frigging article. XD I honest to God go back and forth in my mind on a regular basis if I ever should’ve opened my big mouth and asked people why there was so much hentai out there of this character from Pokémon Black and White. And, because I posted an article with the words Elesa and hentai in them, naturally, it led to a lot of people coming to my site specifically to look for it. It got to the point where, two years later, I finally snapped and decided to post another article discussing it, figuring I’d either quell it for good or get a shit-ton of views for it. Given that it’s the internet…I really shouldn’t have been surprised as to which ended up happening, and I don’t even think I need to tell you which one it was. Still, speaking of Pokémon articles where I go back and forth on if I should’ve ever brought it up…

#2 - "Ash’s Best Team of 6 Pokémon" from Feb. 10th, 2013

#2 – “Ash’s Best Team of 6 Pokémon” from Feb. 10th, 2013

I am shocked, absolutely SHOCKED, that I didn’t get death threats from fans, considering how many people argued my point of not having Charizard on the team. Like, you’d think I’d killed their pet and made them watch as I did it. lol But yeah, looking back on this article, I will say that… … …yeah, Charizard probably should be on there. In fact, I’m actually planning on doing a revised version of the list in the near future, as soon as a certain rumoured Pokémon becomes part of Ash’s roster. Still, what was it that changed my mind? Well, surprisingly enough, it was when Charizard rejoined the team near the end of Best Wishes. Yeah, the arc that turned me off to the anime, because it nonetheless managed to redeem Charizard for what I thought was an absolutely astonishingly pathetic last showing beforehand. Still, expect to see Infernape and a few other of Ash’s better Pokémon on a list of honourable mentions when the revised list comes out.

#3 - "What's A Paladin Rant" from June 10th, 2012

#3 – “What’s A Paladin Rant” from June 10th, 2012

I can only imagine what it must be like for Noah Antwiler, who must STILL to this day get people asking him what a Paladin is, when even I’m still getting people checking out that article of mine discussing the matter. But I do get why. It’s just one of the dumbest things you’ll ever hear someone say in a video game, when you factor in everything that everyone in-game knows at this point. Seriously, roll my vid again.

Oh, and because I like tooting my own horn, I’d like to once again point out that I was the first to use homjakilla’s song in that video. lol But yeah, one of the stupidest fucking lines in a video game EVER… … …BUT, at least it led to probably the most badass line Spoony’s ever said.

…There was an idea. The idea was that, because N. Harmonik had done so much for me, proofreading damned near every article I’ve ever written, and a lot of my stories, that she should have her own article on the blog. So, basically, this was a late Christmas present to her. Plus, while I personally was not that big a fan of Oggy and the Cockroaches, I nonetheless saw the potential it had as a show and how many people liked it that I thought it deserved some additional exposure. As such, I had Aibo (I call her Aibo because it means partner) do not one but two articles about the show. And because her articles have gotten so many views by you all, I’ve decided to go ahead and give her some space here to say thank you. 🙂

I thank all of you for reading these two articles I created, whether or not you’re OatC fans! Oh and please check out my fics: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/632668/

#5 – “Zelda Chronology: Ghirahim is just CREEPY!” from Jan. 27th, 2012

Lastly, an article that was part of my short-lived Zelda Chronology series. As one of the articles from my first year as a blogger, I suppose it makes sense that it’d also be one of my highest viewed, and considering the subject matter…yeah, not shocked it’s this one that gets all the attention. I still maintain that Ghirahim’s oddity as a character is what makes him so memorable, though, and am glad to see him return for games like Hyrule Warriors. And really, no one should be shocked that I connected him to Lady Gaga when you consider that he’s a demon from Hell and is going to kill us all. XD Unfortunately, because of YouTube copyright laws, the video in the article had to be taken down, and will never be posted on there again… … … …The good news is, I decided to post it elsewhere. ^_^

And that’s my 700th article, everybody. Thanks for reading along, and be sure to continue to do so as we venture into the future of more escapist fiction and absurd reality. And lastly, I just wanna thank everybody that has gotten me to this point. Of course, N. Harmonik, my wonderful proofreader who has appeared in some of my vlogs. DorkynProudofit, who did the Man of Steel vlogs with me. PinkRangerWannabe, who co-wrote ‘Lewis Lovhaug Is Not Your Slave’. Morgan Meryl, who did the logo for this blog years ago. Emmybomber, who suggested I talk about moms in comics. And I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot more, but lastly, I wanna cover a lot of people who have inspired me in different ways throughout my various endeavors over the years: Scott Snyder, Lewis Lovhaug (AKA Linkara), Emile Rosales-Birou (AKA Chuggaaconroy), Gail Simone, Charles Sonnenburg (AKA SF Debris), Rosen Rose of the Poison Ivy League, Doug Walker (AKA The Nostalgia Critic), Diane Darcy (AKA helenawaynehuntress), Paul Heyman (no, seriously, lol), G. Willow Wilson, and Justin Carmical (AKA the late great JewWario). Thank you all for being the people you are, as it helped me to be who I am. Ja né!

My Thoughts On Paris And The Refugees (WARNING – SOAPBOX SPEECH AHEAD)

…So, I thought I should go ahead and talk about what happened yesterday, the senseless violence, the terror spread to millions, and the resulting backlash. I’m not gonna go into detail about what happened, but if you’re online, you probably know that, yesterday, there were a number of coordinated attacks on Paris. Last I heard, 129 people were left dead as a result. The current word is that these attacks were orchestrated by ISIS, but I should note that I don’t know that for a fact or if they’ve even claimed responsibility. Maybe they have and I just missed it, or maybe it’s just people looking for someone to blame, but that’s the word making the rounds.

Regardless, I want everyone to know that I feel absolutely horrible for the people of Paris who have had to go through this terrifying event. I’d also like to point out how impressed and proud I am of the worldwide out-pour of support for Paris and France. Several locations had their lights changed to resemble the French flag, including the Sydney Opera House, the One World Trade Center, the Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square, and Mexico’s Senado de la República. Myself and SEVERAL others have had our icons and profile pictures on Facebook and Twitter changed to add a filter coloured like the French flag (although, on a dare, I put it over the LGBT filter I’d already had on my Twitter icon, lol). Also, I actually couldn’t help but notice that the song “Do You Hear The People Sing?” from Les Misérables was trending on Twitter. And obviously, I understand why. “It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again”. I think that applies to fear as well, and the desire to not be slaves to fear, to not surrender to it.

All of that is great… … …and then came the people pointing fingers at Muslim refugees in Paris, and I thought “Here we go again”…Well, I thought THAT first. Then I brought up the idea for a picture of Ms. Marvel hugging Asterix (which, if anyone wants to steal that idea, go right ahead), and then I started thinking of The Drumhead, and then finally I decided to spend the rest of the night off of social media. To everyone who has been suggesting that all nations need to close their borders or more attacks like these will happen, I have a couple of things to say. First off, it’s easy for us to point fingers at these people until you actually stop and think for a second and realize that most of them fled their old homes to get away from this exact kind of bullshit. Secondly, speaking of The Drumhead…

As well as…

One of the advantages of being a honking nerd is having access to so many relatable quotes. And he’s not even my favourite Captain in Star Trek. 😛 But yeah, ultimately, that’s the price of freedom. When you give freedom to everyone, you run this risk, that someone with bad intentions could slip through the cracks. However, when you limit freedom to a certain group of people….well, then it’s not really freedom anymore, is it? It’s called being careful and cautious. You can do that and still have freedom, it’s just a matter of finding the right balance. Is this easy? God help us, no. Really, it just comes down to a simple question: Is it worth finding that balance? Me personally, I would say yes. In fact, if I may make an assumption and thus risk making an ass out of myself, I’d say that a lot of people would. Just know that it won’t be an easy endeavour, but that just because it won’t be easy doesn’t mean you should be willing to give up at the first sign of trouble.

…The last thing I wanna say…well, okay, not exactly say, but touch on, is the current situation right now with ISIS, and whether or not this will lead to war. I don’t really have the words to deal with that right now. Fortunately, as I’ve indicated earlier, I know plenty of people who do, one in particular. And, keep in mind, this is not directed at either side of the conflict any more than the other.

Some people ask why I indulge in escapist and speculative fiction. I-I just don’t know what to tell them. lol Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter. Lemme know your own thoughts, although please try to avoid starting a political argument. Above all, however, I hope that you all at least consider my thoughts and opinions on this going forward from here on out. Ja né!

MAJOR Smash Bros News!

…Just when you thought there was no one else that could surprise you by being in Super Smash Bros, LOOK AT WHO JUST GOT IN!

Now, let’s get a couple of points outta the way. Yes, Cloud has made appearances on Nintendo games before, in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts re:coded, and (and I swear I’m not misspelling or making up this title) Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and its sequel, Curtain Call. No, we have not, at this time, learned if Cloud is the winner of the Smash Ballot or if that character is yet to be announced. We also don’t have a release date for Cloud in the game, but I don’t think we’ll have to wait long…not that SOME of us will wait. 😛

As for the rest of the Smash Bros related news, we know that there will be a special Smash Bros-focused edition of Nintendo Direct next month. Now, unless the next character to be revealed is Master Chief (which I sadly cannot see ever happening), chances are there’s more to this broadcast than just a single character being announced. However, if Cloud isn’t the winner of the Smash Ballot, it’s likely this is where that winner will be announced, and when the release date for Cloud and the Chocobo Mii Fighter gear will be made clear.

But yeah, that’s all for Smash Bros right now…at least until Maximilian returns from his quest for the Cloud release date. lol Lemme know what you guys think of this, if you think Cloud is the winner of the Smash Ballot, and what the news next month will be. Ja né!

An Idea For A Story, PLEASE GIVE INPUT

Okay, I posted this on Facebook and Twitter, but there’s actually more room to go into detail about it here, so I’m gonna ask that you guys give me some input and your own thoughts as to whether an idea I have for a story sounds solid or not. It’s one that’s been bouncing around in my head for the past year, but for various reasons, including my lackluster history with my own created characters and stories outside of fanfiction, I’ve kinda been arguing back and forth with myself if it sounds good or stupid and if I should bother trying to do anything with it. So far, anyone I’ve asked about it has given positive responses, but I’d just like to ask more people about it.

Here’s what I’ve got so far: The world is populated by anthropomorphic creatures (think Sonic/Star Fox/Bucky O’Hare/etc.). It’s made up of various nations that range from predominantly one race of said anthropomorphics to being a melting pot of various creatures. With that said, there’s a bit of a class system in place nonetheless, with the Simians being considered among the more intelligent in that they were able to create more advanced technology. But all of that changed when they tried to create a cure for a disease outbreak…and ended up making it worse, creating large, bulky monstrosities with less (or in some cases zero) fur, lacking basic intelligence, and basically becoming the equivalent of zombies on steroids. The working term I have for them now is the Hairless…because, as you know, I’m a big Kingdom Hearts fan. lol

What’s worse is that this condition could be spread via exchange of bodily fluids. In other words, getting bitten by one and having their saliva enter your bloodstream, or perhaps getting their blood into an open wound, and you will become one. So now the world has become a bit overrun by these monsters, and the people left are having to rework their cities a bit to keep them out as best as they could. Unfortunately, they’re still having to send parties out for recon, the collection of resources, and other reasons, meaning they’d have to be armed and trained to deal with these creatures if necessary. Meanwhile, most of the major governments have lost their leaders, and those trying to pick up the slack have their own varying ideas on what to do with the current situation, ranging from “Let’s dedicate as much of our efforts to slaying the Hairless” to “We should hold defenses and keep them out to eventually starve themselves” to “Let’s put all the blame on the Simians and let them clean up their own mess”. Needless to say, there’s a massive political mess at the moment.

So, yeah, it’s basically Sonic the Hedgehog meets The Last Of Us meets Attack On Titan, with even a little Game of Thrones-esque politics thrown in for flavour. Let me know what you think of this idea in the comments section below, if it sounds like a solid idea for story, as well as anything you personally would add/subtract to what I’ve got so far. Ja né!
