Upcoming Plans For Jyger’s Rant + DC Rebirth Questionnaire
So, just thought I’d keep everybody up-to-date with what I’m doing for the next little bit. First off, if you’re wondering where the updates to my Nuzlocke run are, I’m still playing the game and getting screencaps of myself, but updates are gonna be kinda sporadic. This is because of two things that are happening that I’ll get into in a bit, but for now, don’t worry, the adventures of Mikey, Oswald, and the rest of my team will continue soon.
One major reason why the Nuzlocke updates will be spaced out, though, is because of Marvelous May. Speaking of, today is the cut-off date, so as of right now, I’m no longer taking votes. That means that tomorrow, I will be posting the finalized roster for the fan-vote tournament. Please remember that voting on individual match-ups won’t occur until May, when said match-ups are posted.
As most long-time readers of my blog know, N. Harmonik is my proofreader, and the two of us have done vlogs where we watch the newest Death Battles as of late. However, for this week, her and her mother have gone to Disney World. As such, I’ll be doing the Death Battle vlog solo this week (which is actually cool for me, since I don’t need to wait a few days to see it). But, when she gets back, N. Harmonik has agreed to do an article talking about her time in Disney World, along with photos she’s taken, so look forward to that. ^_^
On top of all that, expect there to probably be a quick vlog and/or slideshow of me going to Free Comic Book Day, as I am prone to do, and don’t be surprised if there’s some coverage of news regarding the upcoming DC Rebirth. Speaking of, I’ve been meaning to ask everybody here, if you were Geoff Johns and looking to steer the ship that is the DC Universe in a specific path, what would it be and what books would you want running as part of this new direction? Just something that’s been on my mind a lot lately is all. Oh, and lastly, sometime within the next couple of months, I plan to do a How To Drop The Ball In Comics about The New 52. Just one last look at everything that went pretty alright and horribly wrong with the reboot.
And in regards to my writing, after all of this is out of the way, I plan to go back and finish J.A. Phillips Presents Batman and Robin. After that, I’ll probably get to work on either Primal Strife or the long-awaited Season 2 of Power Rangers Guardians of Gaia.
Anyway, that’s all I can think of at the moment in terms of future plans. Lemme know if you have any thoughts on my current gameplan and projects, and I’ll try to get back to you. Ja né!
Primal Strife Chapter 13 Preview
Well, it’s been a while since I posted a new chapter of Primal Strife, due to a combination of over-brainstorming, being distracted by other stuff, and just wanting to leave readers in suspense after last chapter ended with essentially a motha fuckin’ T-Rex. So, here’s an early preview of Chapter 13! And as always, remember this story is rated M, except on AdultFanFiction, where the uncensored version is posted.

Dominic, Percy, Claire, Tracy, Garrison, Jacob, Katrina, Gang, and Cory
– Dominic
…So, suffice to say, we were not having a good last day of our trip to the Viridian River. Looking to my sides, taking a quick survey of my team, I could tell we were not looking good. Garrison’s arm was a bloody mess, Jacob’s wing was torn, Katrina was a little cut up, and Percy was trying his best to see to all three of them. Meanwhile, the rest of us were all a bit shaken up and low on ammo, and now we were facing off against a Reptile Hairless, one of the absolute last things you EVER want to find yourself up against. This was going to suck, BADLY.
“Stay clear of her bones and claws,” I advised as calmly as I could while I readied my rifle, Cory reloaded his revolver, and Claire tightened her gloves. “They can stab and shred you apart before you have a chance to realize what happened.”
The massive Hairless let out one earth-shaking roar before lunging at us, her teeth ready to chomp down on us. Before she could, though, Claire leaped up and punched it hard in the snout, while Cory and I rolled to opposite sides and opened fire on her eyes. For the brief moment that this left her stunned, Tracy quickly let loose a spray right into the Hairless’ open mouth, probably hoping to make her back off…It didn’t work out so well.
I barely managed to even see it when it happened. All I know is that, following this initial attack, the Hairless swung her giant, spiky tail around. I just barely managed to duck and roll under it as it threatened to slam and skewer me. Tracy, however, wasn’t so lucky. While she managed to avoid the spikes, the tree trunk-like flat of her tail managed to plough into her side, sending her tumbling end over end across the ground.
“TRACY!” Jacob screamed, immediately forgetting the state of his wing and hurling shuriken after shuriken at the Hairless. Meanwhile, Claire, having held onto the giant’s nostrils, was now on top of her head, throwing relentless fists into her face, giving Cory a chance to grab Tracy and pull her out of the Hairless’ immediate vicinity.
“Claire, get down!” I yelled, taking shots at the Hairless’ underbelly.
“Don’t have much CHOICE!” Claire screamed as she was suddenly thrown off the Reptile’s head, flailing in the air. Jacob managed to leap up and catch her before she hit the ground, but his wing gave out almost immediately, causing him to crash into the side of the Nova. The Hairless opened her jaws wide and charged at them, clearly about to chow down on them, until an orange and black blur rocketed across the side of her face, actually managing to leave a sizable slash mark across her cheek.
“Kat!” I shouted as the tiger rolled and landed nearby. “You sure you’re alright?!”
“I’ve been worse!” Katrina replied as the Hairless instead turned her attention on us.
Looking just behind the giant Reptile’s foot, though, I spotted Garrison using his teeth to ready an explosive arrow on his crossbow. Realizing his plan, I began unloading every round I had into the Hairless’ skull, keeping her attention on me. Katrina soon figured it out, too, scooping up Tracy’s fallen pistol and shooting at the Hairless’ eyes. Before the Hairless could chomp down on us for the constant aggravation, though, Garrison managed to fire the arrow directly into her hide and quite literally blew her ass clean off. Kat and I got out of the way as the Hairless tumbled forward, her back end and tail a gruesome mess.
“…Holy shit,” Cory muttered as we regrouped. “Seriously, you need to start making more of those arrows.”
“That’d be great…” Garrison moaned, lowering his arm as Jacob and Claire slowly scaled down the RV, “…if I weren’t out of materials. That was my last one.”
“Tracy?” Jacob inquired to Percy, who was looking over the fallen skunk.
“She’s definitely got at least ONE cracked rib, possibly more,” Percy replied as Tracy gasped in pain before looking to Jacob’s wing. “…I think you aggravated it.”
Jacob glanced down at his wing, now dripping in blood. “You don’t say?”
“Head’s up, guys!” Claire yelled, pointing to the stirring Hairless. “She’s not done yet!”
Sure enough, just a couple seconds later, the now bloodied and VERY angry looking Reptile Hairless was back to her feet, glaring holes through us. Opening the pouch on my belt with bullets, my heart sank as I found only one left. Looking to the others, it was clear they were all either out of ammo or close to it. Garrison scoffed, using his teeth to free his crossbow from his wrist.
“You’ve only got one good arm!” Percy insisted.
Garrison nodded, eyes on the Hairless as he prepared the claws on his left hand. “That’s one more than she’s going to have when I’m done.”
And that’s all for now. Lemme know what you think, and be sure to read the full chapter when it comes out, either on FictionPress or AdultFanFiction. Ja né!
A Look At The Primal Strife Cast
So, since I’m about five chapters into my new story, Primal Strife, I thought I’d go ahead and give quick looks at the cast. So, let’s do just that. Here are the nine main characters introduced so far in Primal Strife.

Dominic, Percy, Claire, Tracy, Garrison, Jacob, Katrina, Gang, and Cory (created using gen8hedgehog‘s Furry Dollmakers, and thus limited by what options were there)
Dominic ‘Dom’ Lupus
Race: Wolf
Age: 29 (expected age limit: 85)
Fur: Brown/white
Bio: Dominic is the leader of Saint Whitewood’s Second Operational Tactics Team, ‘Whitewood’s Claw’. He’s a strong and confident leader who will do whatever it takes to see his team to victory and have everyone come out of each mission alive. While he hates the idea of killing innocents that have become infected and transformed into Hairless, he will not hesitate to do so if it means the survival of his team and any others that find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, he’s also haunted by a traumatic event from his teen years that he mostly keeps to himself, leaving him with a vulnerable and troubled side. His closest friend on the team is Claire, who has been his best friend since before the outbreak, and he also finds himself attracted to Cory, the newest member of the team.
Weapons/Tactics: Dom tends to enter combat with his sniper rifle, which fires 8.6×70mm rounds. In real life, this weapon is the Remington MSR bolt-action sniper rifle. He’s actually a remarkable and patient shot, able to find cover and wait situations out to score multiple kills with as few rounds as possible. In case of emergencies that require a quick escape, though, he also carries a few smoke bombs on him. And while he tends to keep fights long-range, he does have the sharp claws and fangs of the Canines at his disposal.
Perseus ‘Percy’ Pine
Race: Porcupine
Age: 30 (expected age limit: 90)
Fur: Green (normally brown)
Bio: Having originally trained to be a doctor, Percy instead found himself becoming a field medic and soldier for Whitewood’s Claw during the Primal Strife. While he is perfectly capable in combat, he prefers to use his skills as a physician with some additional talent in acupressure to help his team. Before Cory joined the team, he was considered the rookie, despite being on the team for nearly a year, much to his annoyance. He also harbours a deep resentment for Garrison, but is good friends with his sister Katrina, as well as Jacob, with whom he shares a friendly rivalry.
Weapons/Tactics: Despite preferring to heal the wounded, Percy is perfectly capable of holding his own in combat. Using his own spines like darts, along with his knowledge of pressure points, he’s capable of inflicting stinging and stunning wounds to targets. He also likes dyeing his fur a dark green to give himself camouflage in forests. He also helped create special gloves for the team that provide only small slits for their claws, thus minimizing the risk of infection when using them at short-range against Hairless. Combined with a lotion Tracy concocted for said claws to kill off foreign agents, and this allows them better close-quarters combat with the infected.
Claire Xiǎotùzi
Race: Rabbit
Age: 23 (expected age limit: 65)
Fur: Brown/white
Bio: An old friend of Dominic’s from before the outbreak began, Claire somehow managed to make it with him all the way to Saint Whitewood and become part of his eventual team. The two share a flirtatious and teasing relationship, and though they’ve both made it clear that there does exist an attraction between them, they seem to value their bond as friends above all else. While Dom is her leader, though, Claire can at times be a bit rebellious, acting outside of her orders if she feels it would better an operation. She behaves similarly with her brother, Gang, who despite being her twin, still tries (and fails) to take the older sibling stance with her due to being born 89 seconds before her. Lastly, Claire has no problem whatsoever in using her feminine wiles to get jobs done, and while she’s on suppressants that keep her usual rabbit needs to mate frequently to a minimum, she’s all too happy using that stereotype about her race to fool others into letting their guard down.
Weapons/Tactics: Even though she has a somewhat lithe appearance, Claire’s best weapon is her own body. Like many Lapines, her connection to the very essence of life itself has granted her the ability to use qi. Through qi, she’s able to enhance her own physical prowess, able to punch and kick harder and faster than her body would usually be able to, and endure blows a bit better than a figure her size. Combined with her knowledge of pressure points and her skill in hand-to-hand combat, and she’s a very talented fighter that would catch the unaware completely off-guard.
Tracy Moufette
Race: Skunk
Age: 25 (expected age limit: 65)
Fur: Black/white
Bio: A relative of one of the members of the Primereth World Council, Tracy grew up surrounded by those who were envious and enamoured by her political influence and good looks. However, when the outbreak occurred, she eventually found herself wanting to help others in a more direct manner, eventually joining Whitewood’s Claw. Despite this, though, she has a clear love of life, and can’t bring herself to kill anyone, even a Hairless. As such, she instead works as the team’s chemist, as she found that she had a natural knack for it. Through this, she developed a lotion that, when coated to someone’s claws, made it near-impossible for foreign agents to enter their bodies. Between these and the gloves Percy designed, the team are able to use their claws on the Hairless without getting infected. She usually provides support in missions to Jacob, her closest friend on the team, and Dom, who makes it a habit to keep her out of most of the more violent action.
Weapons/Tactics: Although she grapples with an inability to take a life, Tracy is nonetheless an excellent shot. She usually carries a semi-automatic pistol with 11.43×23mm rounds. In real life, this is the M1911 pistol. She’s also capable of coupling together explosives for blowing holes in walls. Lastly, while other Mephits find it to be an aphrodisiac, Tracy can release an odor that will stun and stagger just about anything else to the point of being unable to function otherwise much.
Garrison Chit-Tora
Race: Cheetah
Age: 23 (expected age limit: 75)
Fur: Yellow/white with black spots
Bio: Growing up idolizing the machinations of the Simians, Garrison grew to become quite the inventor himself. However, following the outbreak, and having to watch his family be torn apart by Hairless, he instead grew to deeply resent his idols, feeling personally betrayed and failed by them. Despite his adoption into a new family that did their best for him, including his new sister, Katrina, Garrison took on a bitter, resentful, insulting, and untrusting nature toward the world. As such, many of his team-mates feel a sense of disdain toward him. Regardless, he will do whatever is necessary for the sake of seeing a mission to success, and would lay his life down to protect Katrina, though his bond with her may go a bit too far…
Weapons/Tactics: For the most part, Garrison prefers to use his own claws as weapons in combat, able to use his incredible speed as a cheetah to strike hard and fast at anything deemed a target. However, for longer ranged combat, he used his inventiveness to cobble together a wrist-mounted crossbow. He even created explosive arrows, though he’s still working on perfecting them, along with a few other gadgets and weapons he’s been working on.
Jacob Vesp
Race: Bat
Age: 33 (expected age limit: 100)
Fur: Black
Bio: When the outbreak occurred, many of the Avians left the land-dwelling races of Primereth to find higher ground, where the Hairless couldn’t follow. However, Jacob, one of the many who lost their families in the violent chaos, opted to remain behind with his friends and allies to help them however he could. As such, he is the last Avian left in his part of the world. Despite this, he keeps up a good morale, oftentimes joking around with Percy, or maintaining a strong friendship with Tracy. He operates mostly as the team’s eye in the sky, able to see across vast distances and relay what he sees to his allies on the ground. He may just be the most loyal member of Whitewood’s Claw.
Weapons/Tactics: Preferring to stick to the air wherever possible, Jacob has a distinct advantage against most anything he finds himself in conflict with. He’s also able to use his wings to create small but strong gusts, and can use his dark appearance to move stealthily through the darkness. In case of emergencies, though, he does carry a number of small shurikens for slashing and throwing at enemies. Lastly, he’s capable of releasing a high-pitched screech that will temporarily deafen anyone who hears it.
Katrina ‘Kat’ Tora
Race: Tiger
Age: 22 (expected age limit: 100)
Fur: Orange/white with black stripes
Bio: Relatively young, especially for her species, Katrina is nonetheless a clever survivor. Like her adoptive brother, Garrison, she’s good with tools. However, she prefers using such skills in tandem with her other passion: Land vehicles. She enjoys tinkering and tricking out cars, making them into monsters on wheels. Her most prized possession is the Nova, an RV that she upgraded to run faster and smoother, and it even possesses a turret gun on the roof. Kat’s inventiveness is likely what gives her common ground with her new brother, as she’s otherwise his opposite in many ways: Respectful, empathetic, and friendly. Still, she does love her brother, even if he can overstep his boundaries at times…
Weapons/Tactics: Generally speaking, Katrina is a creative and resourceful fighter, quick to use anything as a weapon and able to adapt on the fly. For the most part, though, she uses her claws in combat, which rank as the sharpest of her team. Anyone who dares threaten her team-mates will learn that, as kind as she is, she can hack and slash her way through just about anything, even able to leave claw marks in solid steel and stone.
Gang Xiǎotùzi
Race: Rabbit
Age: 23 (expected age limit: 65)
Fur: Brown/white
Bio: Even though he’s Claire’s twin brother, Gang is technically older by 89 seconds. As such, he tends to take an older brother approach with her, much to her irritation. He doesn’t MEAN to make a problem for her, though, instead simply doing his best to watch out for her and her friends. This resulted in him joining Whitewood’s Claw. Together with Claire, the two formed a powerful duo that could stand up to any foe, no matter how strong or numerous. He is a bold, brave, and respectful individual, willing to do whatever is required of him at any given time to assist his team. Unfortunately, he eventually found himself traded to First Squad for Cory, which led to his being separated from Claire, who would have to carry on without him for a time.
Weapons/Tactics: Like Claire, his lackluster stature hides the form and heart of a battle-hardened warrior. However, his discipline and oneness with life makes him even stronger than her. His mastery of qi allows him to push himself to perform incredible feats of strength and skill in combat. A single flying kick to the face of an opponent who earlier shrugged off sniper rounds from Dom’s rifle was able to send said opponent sailing through a wall. This must mean that, utilizing the maximum amount of qi output as he can, he is able to throw a kick with more force than a .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge being shot from a Remington MSR at close range. For all of this and more, Gang may be the single most impressive qi user in all of Primereth.
Cory Tófa
Race: Fox
Age: 21 (expected age limit: 60)
Fur: Light brown/white
Bio: Despite being a bit young and shy and only fifteen days out of training, Cory is nonetheless a quick study, a competent soldier, and a legitimate asset to his new team, Whitewood’s Claw. Even though he’d just recently been made a member when he was traded from First Squad for Gang, Cory is quick to prove himself as the team’s new weapons and equipment manager. He’s a bit of a hoarder when it comes to weapon parts, which works out well for his talents, able to go to work right away in fixing up the team’s weapons and equipment after a mission. However, his shyness does lead to him looking a bit weak at times, and he’s very clearly intimidated and smitten with his new leader, Dominic. Still, he has a strong heart, and will no doubt prove himself in the days to come.
Weapons/Tactics: A firearms expert, Cory is generally decent with anything. However, he prefers his revolver, which has an 8 inch barrel and shoots 10.9×33mm rounds. Its real life equivalent is the Colt Anaconda (8 inch barrel variation). He’s also an excellent shot with it. His only real weakness is that he’s not very strong in a hand-to-hand fight, easily outclassed by most. As such, he’ll oftentimes try to avoid such fights, keeping as much distance between his opponents as possible.
And that’s all for the main cast. Lemme know what you think in the comments below, and be sure to check out the story itself in the links provided. Ja né!

New Story: Primal Strife
So, as you’ve probably noticed by now, I’ve been writing on here a lot less as of late. That’s because I went ahead and decided to do the story I talked about on here a while back. The result? Primal Strife… … …Of course, I wanted to call it Beast Wars, but that was already taken. lol Anyway, here’s a quick look at the plot…
Primereth. A world inhabited by many creatures, all bestial in appearance, but many capable of great intelligence and skills. The Canines had their pack mentality and ability to come together as a strong and smart workforce. The Avians used their mastery and knowledge of the skies and wind patterns to help predict weather patterns. The Lapines possessed a oneness with life itself, granting them the knowledge of qi. The Cetacea, graceful masters of the sea and perhaps the most brilliant of all species, possessed the power of telepathy. However, for as intelligent and skilled as they all could be, none possessed the sheer creative potential of the Simians. They created new forms of technology to better the world, and to allow all races to live lives more comfortably. Within time, they began a grand era of Primereth, with many cities that possessed towers reaching up toward the clouds. And, in this time of comfort, many different races, who had long since been divided by differences and a need to control their own corners of the world, began to reside together in those cities, all working together for their united prosperity.
But, like all things, this eventually came to an end. One day, in the sixty-second year of the Steel and Stone Era, an epidemic was recorded. It was sweeping across much of the western hemisphere of Primereth. Within a year, thousands were stricken with this disease, and hundreds more were dying from it. In an attempt to cure this epidemic, the Simians’ greatest medical scientists came together to forge a vaccine. At first, it seemed to work, as those that had been infected and then had the vaccine tested on showed improved vitals. However, all too late did they realise that they’d created something…worse. Their vaccine actually bonded to the disease, creating something completely new, an unholy union that mutated the bodies of those it rested in, and degraded their minds to their most primal forms: Those of hunters, killers, and conquerors of all kinds. Making matters worse was that the disease could be spread through bodily fluids, and in their degraded and deranged minds, those that were mutated were biting, clawing, and worse at anyone and anything in their path.
After three years, most of the western hemisphere had fallen into chaos, the Simians were an endangered species, and the Steel and Stone Era was replaced with the Primal Era. The united population of Primereth was becoming divided again, though not simply by race, but also in ideas and plans for the future, personal agendas and vendettas, and overall political power and influence. Cities became reconstructed to keep out those carrying the disease as best as possible. However, there remained fallen cities still rich in natural resources, now left untapped. For the sake of survival, many cities began creating teams of specialists, survivalists, and warriors that could brave the now ruined and dangerous world outside their towers to retrieve said resources. These teams would soon begin rivaling ones from other cities, and began to take up missions that involved interfering in the matters of other cities and their leaders.
And thus began…the Primal Strife.
I should also explain a few additional details. For example, Primereth is a bit different from Earth in terms of time. For the sake of giving SOME common ground, seconds are the same, but from there, it’s completely different: there’s 100 seconds in a minute, 100 minutes in an hour, 10 hours in a day, 75 days in a season, and 4 seasons in a year. No months, only the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Then there’re the inhabitants of Primereth. Their skeletal structures are still relatively the same as the creatures they’re based off of, just bigger. They can stand on their hind legs just fine and move around like us, but they’re still a bit faster on all fours, and their front paws more resemble hands. Likewise, anything with wings in real life and not arms will have wings in place of their arms, and feather-covered hands at the ends of them. As for how other kinds of creatures work, I’ll discuss them in the Author’s Notes I put at the end of every chapter of every story I write when we come to them.
Lastly, I should talk about the most controversial part of this story. I was on the fence about involving sex in this story, and ultimately, the part of me that wanted to include it was the part that won out due to the simple fact that…well, animals fuck. It’s kind of a thing, and to pretend otherwise is just dumb. For those uncomfortable with that, I should note that, due to the restrictions of FictionPress, I will not be going into graphic detail when it comes to sex in the story while I’m posting it on there… … …BUT, for those that don’t mind and/or would actually want to read the details, I’m also posting an uncensored version of this story on AdultFanfiction. Just a warning, though: Because it’s uncensored, there’s a lot of graphic violence and sex involved, though with the latter, I’m gonna try to keep it gender neutral in terms of overall exploitation. Because, as I’ve learned, any kind of sex in a story is ultimately exploitation, there’s just no way around that, so the best thing you can do if you’re going to involve it is keep it as gender neutral as possible.
Anyway, here are the links to the story. Check ’em out at your leisure, and lemme know what you think of the story so far. Ja né!
