N. Harmonik’s Blind Reaction To Death Battle: Pokémon vs Digimon (And I’m There Too, lol)
So, I was at N. Harmonik’s place today, so I thought I’d record her blind reaction to the newest Death Battle, Pokémon vs Digimon. First, the analysis…
…And now the fight itself.
…So, with that out of the way, I said in the video that I “did the math” to determine if Mewtwo could beat WarGreymon or not. Strap yourselves in, guys, this is gonna be a long one…lol
If we’re doing this battle by the logic of monsters and their trainers, then we’d have to use Red’s Mewtwo here. In Pokémon Origins Episode 4, Red’s Charizard beat Mewtwo after Mega Evolving, and this was after Mewtwo had used Recover to regain a lot of its health from fighting the rest of Red’s team. Also, comparing base stats, it’s clear that Mewtwo is still slightly superior to Mega Charizard X when at the same level, so for the latter to beat the former even after using Recover, he must’ve been higher than Level 70, the level that Mewtwo is at when you encounter it at Cerulean Cave. But even if he wasn’t then, we know for a fact he became so later. In HeartGold/SoulSilver, Red’s Charizard ranks in at Level 84, and considering that Red had his strongest team with him there and Mewtwo wasn’t on it, clearly his whole team at that point were stronger than Mewtwo at the time. And lastly, if we went by Pokémon mechanics, since WarGreymon wears armour made of Chrome Digizoid, Mewtwo’s Psychic attacks would likely do less damage as it would be akin to him attacking a Steel-type Pokémon.
NOW, with all of that said, Mega Charizard X actually did put up an excellent fight, despite a clear difference in the two’s power levels. The reason for that, though, is Red. Once that element of the fight was taken out of the equation, Charizard was left wide open as we saw. And, with that in mind, we have to look at Red and Tai and compare the two. Red may have been the better tactician, but he’s not used to getting into fights himself. Tai and Matt fought all the time, whereas Red and Blue occasionally got up in each other’s face, maybe even shoved each other a bit, but never an all-out brawl. Also, while Red was fit enough to travel Kanto and make his way to the heart of Mt. Silver, Tai’s dealt with comparable traveling situations while traversing a large portion of the Digital World, which is supposedly the same size as Earth.

Time for the ultimate childhood clash: Pokémon vs Digimon!
As you know, Mega Charizard X vs WarGreymon was a Death Battle I wanted to see in the future, and based on this trailer, it looks like we may see just that in the end. Combined with the fact that Red and Tai are involved in this battle, meaning that they have access to all Trainer/Tamer influence (additional training, strategy, etc.), and this could get crazy. In fact, the battle itself may only be where things START to get crazy, since part of me totally expects the fan reactions to be something akin to those for Goku vs Superman, no matter who wins this battle.
Anyway, be sure to check the battle out when it’s released next week. And, if you wanna see what happened the last time Charizard entered a Death Battle, check out the Pokémon Battle Royale…

Digimon Adventure DM Chapter 4 Preview
Yeah, sorry it’s been a while since I last posted anything about my Digimon fic. Long story short, Super Mario Maker. lol Anyway, for your patience, an early preview of Chapter 4. Enjoy!
The trio rode for close to a half an hour before coming to a stop just outside the animal shelter. There were lots of animals both in the main building and behind some fences outside. Getting off their bikes and skateboard, the trio followed Neilina to one of the cages, where they quickly spotted a girl inside, feeding a rather big and mean-looking dog like it was a puppy. Once she was done, she turned to face the three, a little surprised. She wore a red and white hat over long ginger hair, she had deep blue eyes, and she wore a skirt that ended just above her knees. For a moment, she seemed less than happy to see Neilina, but smiled anyway.
“Hello, Neilina,” the girl said, walking up to greet her. “It’s been a little while since we last talked, huh?”
Neilina nodded, looking awkward and nervous. “Yeah, it has. Sayuri, I wanted you to meet my friends. Satoshi, Yuji, this is Sayur-“
Turning back to face the boys, Neilina immediately felt like groaning, just looking at their expressions. Both were looking at Sayuri like she was Miss Universe or something, clearly completely enamoured by the lovely girl’s appearance, while Neilina might as well have been transparent to them both.
“…BOYS,” Neilina growled, snapping her fingers to get their attention. “Yeesh. I see some things haven’t changed since we last met, huh?”
Sayuri giggled, blushing in embarrassment. “Sorry! I don’t mean to make boys like this, honest!”
Neilina rolled her eyes. “You don’t have to…ugh, nevermind. Sayuri Shigematsu, this is Satoshi Sakamoto and Yuji Yamaguchi.”
“Nice to meet you both,” Sayuri said, smiling and holding a hand out.
“N-Nice to m-m-meet you,” Satoshi stammered, shaking Sayuri’s hand.
“Forgive us, but Neilina didn’t say we were meeting a girl,” Yuji added. “Especially not one as radiant as you.”
Sayuri blushed even harder. “Oh, you boys! You’re making me embarrassed!”
Neilina face-palmed hard enough to send out an echo. “…ANYWAY, Sayuri, I was wondering if we could talk to you and Taishiro.”
Sayuri’s eye twitched slightly, her mood immediately changing to one of concern as she turned to face Neilina. “…Taishiro?”
“Please, Sayuri,” Neilina pleaded. “It’s really important.”
Sayuri’s shoulders slumped a little, her previous joy seemingly evaporated. “…He’s upstairs. C’mon, I’ll take you to him.”
Once again, Satoshi couldn’t help but be confused. The atmosphere seemingly changed so drastically, and he couldn’t quite put his finger on why. Still, he and Yuji followed after the two girls as they went inside and headed up a staircase, before they came to a stop at a door. After a quick knock on it, a young voice from the other side told them they could come in. Sayuri opened the door and led the group into a room where some puppies were playing with a young boy, looking to be no older than 8, with short blond hair. He looked a little nervous at the sight of the older boys, but became a little more friendly upon seeing Neilina.
“Neilina, it’s good to see you again!” the boy cheered, hugging Neilina. “I’ve missed you!”
Neilina smiled a little, hugging the boy back. “It’s good to see you too, Taishiro…”
Yuji’s eyes widened in surprise. “Wait…he can’t possibly be one of the kids we’re here to see, can he?”
Neilina looked back to Yuji before gesturing to the door, at which point he closed it. Once the five were alone, Neilina looked back to Taishiro and Sayuri, giving a small nod. The two then looked to each other and nodded before reaching into their pockets. Sure enough, Sayuri and Taishiro both pulled out Digivice DMs, a red one and a green one, before streaks of light poured out of them, producing two Digimon. Sayuri’s was a yellow and orange bird-like Digimon in an eggshell with a tiny sword slung over his back, while Taishiro’s was a green, four-legged Amphibian Digimon with an orange-red spine across her head and back.
“Satoshi, they really ARE like you guys!” Agumon observed from Satoshi’s Digivice before appearing in a flash of light, followed by Lopmon and Gabumon.
“The amphibian is Betamon,” Yuji announced, scanning the creature. “This one in particular is a girl. Her finishing attack is a powerful Electric Shock.”
“And the other one is Hyokomon, a Chick Digimon,” Satoshi added, scanning Sayuri’s partner with his Digivice. “Despite being a Rookie, he’s pretty dedicated to mastering swordsmanship and becoming a samurai.”
“Wow, you both have Digimon?!” Taishiro exclaimed, pointing his Digivice at Agumon. “I gotta see…Agumon, a Reptile Digimon. Says his attack is Pepper Breath.”
“And Yuji’s partner is Gabumon, also a Reptile Digimon,” Sayuri explained, scanning Gabumon. “They’re typically shy, and like to wear the pelts of Garurumon to hide their bodies underneath, kinda like humans and our clothes.”
“I-I’m not shy!” Gabumon insisted, blushing and shifting a bit. “I just…don’t see any reason to be running around naked, unlike some Digimon…”
So yeah, our two new DigiDestined are Sayuri Shigematsu and Taishiro Takeuchi, and their partners Hyokomon and Betamon. Also, I know it was established canon that Digimon don’t have genders, but I’m kinda tossing that out for reasons I’ve established prior. Plus, N. Harmonik thought, and I agreed, that it’d be neat to have a boy DigiDestined have a female Digimon Partner, since we’d already had girl DigiDestined with male partners before.

Digimon World -next Order- Trailer – It’s Evaluating Time!
So, since I’ve been getting back into Digimon as of late, I thought I’d go ahead and look at the trailer for the newest game in the series, Digimon World -next Order-.
…Okay, I find myself wanting to ask some questions and do some analysis, but how best to do that?
… … …Oh, I know! Haven’t done this in a while, but…
IT’S EVALUATING TIME!!!
So, right off the bat, I can tell that this takes place in the same world as Digimon World and Digimon World Re:Digitize. Some of the locations look similar enough to those seen in previous games, but that have clearly been developed more since that time (remember that in the Digital World, time moves much faster). Also, the presence of Jijimon and a battle system similar to those games furthers that belief. However, the battles have a very obvious tweak added: You now use two Digimon instead of one. And hey, two’s fine. It’s not like some of the games where you have six. The only time I’ve ever been okay with a game having that many Digimon partners is when you play as multiple kids on the same team, like the Digimon Adventure 01 game, or when it’s a situation like Digimon Fusion. Otherwise, much as I like the Digimon RPGs for the Nintendo DS, that always bugged me a bit.
There are also two protagonists you can play as: A boy and a girl (and yes, we’ve got a female goggle head ^_^). However, something noteworthy that I can’t get past: The boy has Agumon and Gabumon as his initial partners, while the girl has Biyomon and Palmon. Now, the obvious reason I can think of is that Agumon and Gabumon are more associated with male protagonists in the games and anime, while Biyomon and Palmon are more associated with girls. With that said, though, I can’t help but wonder about something: Obviously, with two partners, Jogressing (DNA Digivolving) is gonna be a thing in this game, and we even see Omnimon in the trailer. So, my question is, does this mean Biyomon and Palmon can eventually Digivolve into two Mega Digimon that can also Jogress in this game? I mean, to keep things fair and even between the two protagonists’ Digimon? I know that’s what I would do. However, now all I can think of is Rosemon with wings. lol
Anyway, all things considered, the game looks good, and I hope to see it in North America… … …and, let’s be honest, beyond a fan-made patch, probably not. Still, I hope fans in Japan have fun with the newest entry in the series. Ja né!
Digimon Adventure DM Preview: The Next Kids
So, in the newest chapter of my Digimon fic, which you can read here, I acknowledged the existence of more kids with Digimon partners. In fact, in the next chapter, we’ll be seeing two more kids join the team. As such, here’s an early preview of these new kids:
…Yeah, my silhouettes could use work. lol Anyway, without giving too much away, one of the kids will have a Digimon partner never before seen on the show and only appeared in Japan-only video games, and the other will use an old classic favourite to many. So, yeah, either way, plenty of people are in for a treat.

Digimon Adventure DM Chapter 3 Preview
So, I thought since my Digimon fic is making progress that I’d post an early preview of Chapter 3. Enjoy!
“WOULD YOU TWO KNOCK IT OFF?!” the two heard a rather terrifying voice boom out, looking to the edge of the roof to see Neilina standing there with a vein in her forehead threatening to turn into a bolt of lightning, Lopmon perched nervously on her shoulders. “Seriously, you’re both lucky your little fight is in an abandoned part of town!”
The two boys quickly parted, turning away from each other in a huff as Neilina sighed in exasperation. “Look, we’ve got enough to worry about without fighting with each other. I suggest the two of you stop bickering like children and focus more of that energy on fighting Digimon crossing into our world.”
“Sorry, but I do things my own way,” Yuji commented. “Besides, you want kids who will do what you tell them? There’s plenty more of us around town.”
Satoshi’s eyes widened a bit in shock. “There are?”
“What, did you think you were the first kid she gave a Digivice to?” Yuji scoffed. “Sorry to burst your bubble, ‘Goggle Boy’, but you’re really not that special. Neilina’s been recruiting for, what, at least a few months? Gotta be about a half a dozen of us by now.”
Satoshi’s jaw dropped for a second, but he quickly recomposed himself. “If that’s true, then we need to get everyone together to take down the Digimon coming over!”
“They’re not ready,” Neilina interjected, looking away. “Some of them don’t want to fight, and others are…doing other things right now.”
“…’Doing other things’?” Satoshi inquired, confused.
Yuji shrugged, walking away. “Gotta say, Neilina, you’re not very good at this whole child-soldier-recruitment thing…”
Lopmon practically stared a hole through Yuji at this comment. “Neilina is NOT recruiting child soldiers!”
“It’s an army of children!” Yuji retorted as he stopped walking, a small crackle of energy running through his Digivice. “That’s pretty much the exact definition of child soldiers!”
“You make it sound like they don’t have a choice, though!” Neilina argued, the screen of her Digivice DM going to static for a moment.
“Oh, please!” Yuji growled, looking suddenly furious. “You handed v-pets out willy nilly, never once telling the people you were giving them to what they were getting into! Then, AFTER they’re already linked to a Digimon, you give a little speech about how they need to help, and like puppets on strings, they do as they’re told!”
“I AM NOT A PUPPET!” Satoshi shouted, not noticing a small spark leave his Digivice.
“Uhh, guys?!” Gabumon tried to speak up. “I don’t think you know this, but something weird’s going on with-“
“And another thing, at least I’m TRYING to help out instead of just running around being a jerk!” Satoshi ranted.
“Yeah, ‘cuz that’s ALL I do!” Yuji roared, getting face-to-face with Satoshi again. “I don’t try to help people, I don’t stop Digimon that pass between worlds, I just run around giving wedgies all day!”
“Both of you, time out!” Neilina yelled, slapping hands on both of them.
“BUTT OUT!” Satoshi and Yuji shouted, just as all three Digivices suddenly released a mass of energy that knocked the kids to the ground.
Satoshi groaned, grabbing his head as he sat up. Looking up in the air, he watched in horror as the sky itself suddenly had a small tear ripped into it, releasing gusts of wind that pushed at the three kids and their Digimon. Within moments, not one but three figures began to emerge from it, all looking to be small, stout, ogre-like Digimon of varying colours.
“…Okay, THAT one’s on us,” Neilina muttered with a gulp.

New Fanfiction: Digimon Adventure DM
…So, I may be pushing Power Rangers Guardians of Gaia back a little. Why? Well, because when I get into a franchise again, I tend to get into it so much that I become a bit single-minded on it. What I’m saying is…I started a Digimon fic. 😛
It is entitled Digimon Adventure DM, and, much like a lot of versions of Digimon shows, games, and manga, takes place in its own continuity. It’s actually an idea I’ve had bouncing around for a few years now, and I’m happy to see that I’ve finally found the time to make it happen. The Digimon presented will be a balance between the old, the new, the rarely seen on the show, and some that are completely made up. Also, while it mostly sticks to the English translations of the show and the terminology used there, because some of the translations don’t make much sense, and because some Digimon, their names, and their attack names have MULTIPLE translations, the names that I’ve chosen to use might not seem to have much of a pattern to them, but don’t worry too much about it. I’ll also be posting bios of the characters in the fic to Deviant Art, and I’ve already done so with the main lead, so feel free to click the image below to read more about him.
Anyway, the main thing I wanted to talk about here is that, while I have an idea of the general story I want to tell, and have already decided on the Digimon the kids in this story will use, I’m more than open to suggestions of Digimon that can appear as enemies in the story. Now, I can’t guarantee that every Digimon that is suggested will make an appearance, but I’ll certainly take each and every suggestion under advisement, and I might even be willing to credit those who make certain requests in the Author’s Notes at the end of a chapter. As such, feel free to post requests in the comments section below.

Digimon Questionnaire: Who Would Be Your Partner?
So, to finish up my current Digimon kick, I thought I’d ask everyone who reads my articles the obvious question: Who would your partner Digimon be? You can also add information, like what its various forms would be, what kind of Digivice you’d use, and so on. And if you need help, you can go on Wikimon, they have every Digimon and who they can Digivolve to and from (though for English fans, you might wanna know ahead of time that each Digimon is listed primarily by their Japanese names, but you can still find them by their English names just fine). For example, let’s say I chose Agumon as my partner. His forms would probably be as follows:
Baby – Botamon
In-Training – Koromon
Rookie – Agumon
Champion – Greymon
Ultimate – RizeGreymon
Mega – VictoryGreymon
…Or, let’s say I picked Veemon. Then it’d probably go like this:

But let’s say you wanted something a bit more unconventional. You could say something like this:

Jyger’s Favourite 5 – 5 Shamelessly Oversexualized Female Digimon (WARNING – NOT A KID FRIENDLY ARTICLE)
…Before we start, I’m just gonna say this: I know that, in some versions of Digimon, they’ve stated that they don’t have actual genders. Yeah, I’m calling bullshit on that, because we’ve clearly seen Digimon of male and female appearance and mannerisms that were in love. And even if it’s just how they’re created to look and act but, in the end, lack any real form of genitalia, those designs are still apparent, and hoo boy, have some of the female Digimon been clearly drawn to appeal to, at the very least, older kids going through puberty. Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at the 5 female Digimon I believe to be among the most shamelessly oversexualized of them all. Oh, and I should clarify that the reason I thought of this is because I’ve been on a huge Digimon kick after seeing the Season 2 finale of Digimon Fusion, and looking back on it all made me realize all of this.
#1 – Angewomon and LadyDevimon
I suppose I should’ve put Angewomon by herself, since she’s probably the first one people think of when it comes to sexualized Digimon, but I felt that her and LadyDevimon should be put in a duo because…well, everyone remembers their cat fights. lol Also, as if that wasn’t enough, we also now have them fusing, and…well, just take a look at their DigiFuse. lol
Yeah, there’s no fucking way they didn’t know what they were doing with that sequence. XD
#2 – Rosemon
Admittedly, there’s way worse than Rosemon…at least in terms of initial design. Then they gave her an attack where she gets naked and projects energy from her body. THEN she got pretty bad. lol Plus, there’s the whole whip thing, which some have taken to mean she has a bit of a dominatrix side, although that never really stuck with me much. What DID stick with me is when they changed her attack name from Rose Rapier to Rose Spear… …Guys, she’s clearly using it like a sword. The only reason you changed the name is because rapier sounds like rape. Grow up, it’s the name of a frigging sword.
#3 – Laylamon
Before anyone says anything, I would just like to point out that I am not getting these images off Google, nor are they fan-art. This is official artwork I found off of wikis. So, lest anyone think I’m being silly and just basing this off other people’s interpretations of the characters, I’m not. This is all legit. Anyway, just the fact that Laylamon’s (Lilithmon in Japanese) name suggests an element of dark temptation is enough to know exactly what she’s all about, but toss in the fact that she’s the literal representation of lust in the Digital World, and you’ve definitely got an idea as to what this character would be doing if this wasn’t a kid’s show. Plus… … …could that top POSSIBLY plunge any more??? o.O
#4 – BioLotusmon
Again, BioLotusmon’s look is kinda sexual, but she’s not that bad. However, much like Rosemon, she has an ability that… … …well…
Of course, I should note that a big part of this has more to do with Nanami, the human behind the Digimon, who was definitely a huge source of the eye candy that season. But, since they’re pretty much one and the same, and I’ve never see BioLotusmon outside of being Nanami’s Digimon form, it remains kinda linked to her. Also, yes, her name is BioLotusmon, I don’t care that they called her BioRotosmon in English, because rotos is a corruption of the word lotus, so why not fucking call her that, unless you’re stupid and didn’t understand what the hell they were saying in the original Japanese version…but that’s a rant for another day. lol
#5 – Venusmon
…Be honest, this is probably the single most blatant of all the sexualized Digimon out there. Let’s just go through the check-list, shall we?
- Massive cleavage showing
- Legs exposed
- Skin smooth and shiny enough to see one’s reflection
- Wearing a thong, choker, and long gloves and boots
- Plenty of official artwork showing the exact curvature of her breasts and ass
The only thing missing is that her boots aren’t spiked or anything like that. I have no idea how that was missing from the overall design. Also, I get why her eyes are covered for her character background, that she can tell a human or Digimon’s true character without looking at them, but it feels like that’s another part of the puzzle left out in terms of making her look hot, ‘cuz hey, who doesn’t like admiring a girl’s pretty eyes? Oh, but before you suggest that she’s just an eye-candy Digimon with no real power, oh no, she has power. In fact, a pretty useful one. She’s able to calm and tame ANY Digimon, no matter how cruel or vicious. Evil Digimon must hate her to a HUGE degree.
