Some Channel Awesome Related News – Linkara Says “Please Let Ads Play”, Welshy Leaves Internet
So there’s been some news related to TGWTG and Channel Awesome, so I thought I’d give my two cents on them both. First up, let’s talk about an issue that’s come up with Lewis Lovhaug, AKA Linkara, and a number of people who post on Blip. If any of these people mean anything to you, PLEASE watch the video.
…Yeah, first off, I’d just like to thank Lewis for basically saying the same thing I’ve been saying to people who complain about ads in videos. Guys, most ads are what, 30 seconds? Sure, maybe you’ll come across one of those really obnoxious ones that’s like three minutes long, but seriously, you could just mute it and read a comic or something. It’s still LEAGUES better than what we have to deal with on TV. Deal with it. Second, as I brought up on Tumblr, was definitely a good idea of Lewis to post this video on YouTube. While I get that he has his reasons for not posting his videos on YouTube and respect his decision to not do so, messages like this definitely work well by being posted there. They reach a wider audience. The other thing I’d like to note is that, while I don’t have a PayPal account, you can be sure that when I get one, the DVD will likely be among the first things I use it for, and I encourage others to do the same.
The second thing I’d like to talk about is that Welshy recently noted on his Tumblr that he will be leaving TGWTG, as well as the entire flipping internet entirely. He didn’t really wanna talk about why, but some of us already know and understand why it would be necessary for him. Now, this is admittedly kind of awkward for me to comment on as I was never really a big fan of Welshy’s work. However, I do understand his contributions to the site, and I most certainly understand why this is a big loss for them, especially considering that a number of people have left within the past few months (Spoony, Iron Liz, PushingUpRoses, and JewWario). I will say though that this could be an opportunity for other internet reviewers to possibly get in, like SF Debris or Confused Matthew. Still, big shoes to fill.

My Blip Videos and Account Are Gone
Well, I guess I might as well just tell it to you guys straight: My Blip videos are gone. Why? Because I asked that my Blip account and page be taken down. Long story short, they were making some changes to how they were planning to do things, and I just felt my days there were numbered, so I took off.
So obviously, all my Jyger’s Rant and Tales of Dumbassery vids are down at the moment. I’m gonna see about finding somewhere else to post them, but in the meantime they’re down. I apologise for the inconvenience.
Coming To A Decision – The Future Of Jyger’s Rant
Okay, so I’m sure that people who have checked in on my stuff are wondering why I haven’t done a lot of videos as of late. In fact, pretty much all my activity has been writing blogs and my Superhero Tales over on deviantArt…

…and yes, I AM an attention whore, thank you for asking. XD So, at this time, I’d like to address the future of Jyger’s Rant – The Series, as well as the future of this blog. Now, as I have been subject to do, I MAY go back on this decision, but right now, my decision is that I will eventually release the rest of my Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie review, and then I’m not going to be doing anymore video reviews.
Now, this is not because I’m depressed and distressed and feeling like I can’t cut it as an on-video internet reviewer. I mean, I DO feel that way sometimes, but that’s not why I’m doing this. Rather, it’s because I realise that I’m FAR more efficient and less clumsy as a writer, not to mention I seem to enjoy it a lot more. This also does NOT mean I won’t be doing reviews anymore. Instead, what I’ve decided is to be a text-only internet reviewer. I just feel that I work better this way. The truth is, I never was fully satisfied with my on-screen work that came off as kind of clumsy at best sometimes, or at others seeming to be Linkara-lite in style. So ultimately, I’ve decided that from here on out, all reviews will be in text format, with the exception of the Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie review since part of it is already on Blip. So all the reviews I had planned to do a while back, I WILL be doing them, just in text format.
So, does this mean I’m never releasing videos ever again? Heck no. I do still plan to eventually film more Tales of Dumbassery, and of course, any time that I go to a con or the like, I’ll be filming that for vlogs. In fact, I actually plan to do some of that in the near future, at the very least during Free Comic Book Day. And also, if any of my friends want me to do a cameo or the like in any of their vids, they know where to find me. So, you will still see me, you’ll see Poliwhirl, and you’ll see N. Harmonik on occasion.
So yeah, I hope that explains how things are gonna work around here now, I’m sorry if this disappoints anybody, but above all else, I don’t want anyone to think that I’m done here. If anything, I’m just getting started. Ja né!

Viewcount Totals for October + Plans for the Future
So, final total for the month of October on my blog: 2,262! Now, a lot of people know I feel bad about the mass number of views that came in for the Starslip post and why, but guess what? I checked the total amount of views the Starslip post had in October and subtracted it from the total views for October, and even without it, I still got way more views than I generally do on my blog. Yay! ^_^
I’m pretty sure part of what has brought in these higher numbers are my extended talks on comic books, in particular my short text reviews on the comics I buy every week. So with that said, expect me to keep doing that. I’m sorry if that annoys anyone and prefers to watch for my talks on Pokémon or the like, but don’t fret, I AM doing that too. In fact, my next video review will be on a classic episode of the show.
By the way, if you’re wondering where that episode is, it’s been put lower on the priority list because my YouTube reviews had to be taken down. So what am I doing now? I am reworking and tweaking the multi-part review of the Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie review. That said, I would also like to release the following list of reviews I plan to release on Blip, in no particular order. And no, I’m not releasing dates since, as most of you have figured out by now, I am TERRIBLE at keeping up scheduling dates.

Okay, so to everybody that made this possible, I cannot express my thanks enough. I am COMPLETELY overwhelmed by all of this, it’s INSANE. I have so many people to thank, and I know I thanked you already on Twitter, but I’m going through it again. lol I want to thank Lewis Lovhaug for being such a HUGE inspiration to me. I want to thank the greatest woman in the world, my beautiful new girlfriend Teagan, for being such a positive influence on me this past month, I love you so much. I wanna thank PinkRangerWannabe, so-shipsahoy, GracefulWitch, and so many more for helping me with this however I needed it, you guys rock. I of course have to thank N.Harmonik for being a great co-star wherever possible and putting up with my bullshit off-screen, and I gotta thank my Mom for filming that bit where I had the Turbo cassette “run over”. I also gotta thank Annetto for letting me be a co-host on her show, however brief I lasted, and giving me some much-needed confidence AND for introducing me to Teagan.

10,000+ Views! + Ash vs Paul Re-Uploaded
A funny thing happened when I got home from N.Harmonik’s today: My blog had hit 10,000+ views! Can I get a Yes chant?
Anyway, on top of that, I have now re-uploaded the Ash vs Paul Trilogy to Blip, which also means that now it’s time to get back to work and do up The Semi-Final Frontier as I promised. Now because at this point my schedule is pretty much shot dead in the head, I can’t say when exactly it’ll be up, but I promise it’ll be soon. Until then, enjoy these three reviews re-uploaded, and I’ll see ya soon. Ja né!
A Few Changes to Jyger’s Rant – The Series
So yeah, as I posted earlier, I am going to be doing reviews on Blip.tv from now on. All my old videos are still on YouTube, and there’s also a few videos I plan to do in the future that’ll be on there, but otherwise all new reviews will be on my Blip page. However, that’s not all that’s changing.
Basically, I’m dropping the storyline because it was getting ridiculous what I had in mind. However, because other people helped to make the videos that had the storyline happen, it’s only fair to keep those vids up on YouTube. N.Harmonik will still be on the show though, and her character is still an android built by aliens à la Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but otherwise she’s not here because I have some strange powers or whatever, she’s just observing the internet reviewer/geek at work.
As it pertains to the Turbo review, I’ll basically be doing a redux of that review, basically re-recording all the moments that had me live and in person, and making into 2-3 videos since I don’t have to deal with YouTube size restrictions anymore.
From now on, anything I review has to be at least a year old before I review it. That’s the deadline. This is because when I first released my review of Dazzling the Nimbasa Gym, a crap ton of people came to check it out thinking it was the actual episode. That was my bad. Sadly, this means that I’ll be putting off a certain review I planned to do until mid-January at the very earliest. But whatev, I’m patient…sometimes. 😛
Oh, and as I stated before, the main series will only deal in animated series and tokusatsu. If I ever cover videogames and the like, it’ll be in Jyger’s Favourite 5 or a blog entry on here.
